Privacy policy
Tested Clips is a static website. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no analytics. This page describes what actually happens when you visit, rather than what a template says might happen.
The short version
- We set no cookies and run no analytics.
- We have no way to identify you and do not try to.
- Our server keeps standard access logs, including your IP address.
- Two third parties do receive data: Google Fonts when the page loads, and an affiliate network if you click through to a tool.
- If you email us, we have your email.
What the site itself collects
Nothing beyond what any web server records. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap, no A/B testing tool and no advertising network on this site. Nothing is written to your browser's local storage.
Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, this page changes first and a banner appears.
Server logs
The site runs on our own virtual server. Its web server writes standard access logs containing your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page.
These exist for security and debugging — spotting attacks, diagnosing errors, confirming a deployment worked. They are not analysed to build a picture of individual visitors, and they are not shared with anyone. The legal basis, where UK or EU law applies, is legitimate interest in keeping the service running and secure.
Google Fonts
Typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's font service (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser requests those files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and standard request headers when a page loads. We receive nothing from that exchange and set no cookie through it.
This is the only third-party resource loaded on page view. Google's handling of that data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to tools are affiliate links. Nothing happens until you click one. When you do, the destination site or its affiliate network — Impact, Rewardful, or the vendor directly — typically sets a cookie in your browser so any subsequent subscription is attributed to us, and we earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
That cookie is set by them, not by us. Its lifetime is theirs to determine and ranges from thirty to ninety days depending on the programme. We can see aggregate click and conversion counts in the affiliate dashboards; we cannot see who you are, what else you did, or anything about your account with that vendor.
Outbound affiliate links carry rel="nofollow sponsored". The tools we earn nothing from are listed on the homepage.
If you write to admin@testedclips.com we hold your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we have context if you write again. We do not add you to a mailing list — there isn't one — and we don't pass your address to anyone.
Your rights
If you're in the UK, EU or another jurisdiction with equivalent law, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection over personal data we hold about you.
In practice the only data we hold that could identify you is a server log entry and, if you've written to us, an email. Ask at admin@testedclips.com and we'll act on it. For a log-based request, please include the approximate date and IP address, since without them we have no way to find your entries.
Children
This site is aimed at people evaluating professional creative software. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
The date at the top reflects the last substantive change. If we ever add analytics, advertising or any other tracking, this page will be updated before that goes live — not afterwards.
